We’re really excited to be part of our local community in Waterloo, and want to make it even better. We call this our ‘2020 Vision’ for Waterloo.
We want to create a movement for change based on collaboration between individuals and groups to develop a beacon of hope for our local community here in Waterloo.
It’s bigger than any one group of people – it’s about inspiring the local community to find new and meaningful ways of working together to make this area a vibrant, good place to be.
What does it look like?
We want to see a community that is characterised by high levels of trust, mutual support, and vibrancy. It will have low crime and effective 24/7 services, where entrepreneurialism flourishes and is known as a cultural destination in its own right.
And importantly it is change that is sustained by local people, together creating profound transformation in the local area, not alienating those already here.
How does it happen?
It’s a movement based on the idea of genuine social and spiritual collaboration between individuals, groups and organizations. Being inclusive matters to us - we want to work with everyone to make this 2020 Vision a reality.
Some of us have faith that inspires us; we all believe in better. Let’s together make this community a beacon of hope that is an example of other inner city communities of what can be achieved by everyday people together.
