If you missed Johanna’s Got Talent, you missed out. The Auditorium was packed with students, parents and carers from Oasis Johanna Primary who all had a thoroughly good time as they were entertained by singers, dancers, rappers, skippers and hula spinners.
Of the 88 students who auditioned, 12 acts made it through to the live final and all of them were fantastic, without even a hint of butterflies. Dan ‘Dermot’ Dowman proved a natural host bringing a ton of energy and enthusiasm that was returned with interest by the audience.
Surely the evening’s toughest job was that of the judges who were tasked with selecting the ultimate winner. But, after much deferring and recounting of votes, a winner was found… The Super Girls, a three-piece girl group who entertained the crowd with a fantastic rendition of Jessie J’s Price Tag.
The success of Johanna’s Got Talent went far beyond the evening; it was ground-breaking in the development of relationships with the families of Johanna Students who joined the Oasis family in September and are coming o the end of their first term.
We are now all looking forward to next term.
