Getting started...

It can be pretty intimidating to find your way into a new community.  If you just want to chat or make first contact you can call us on 020 7921 4205 or email the church office team on churchoffice@oasiswaterloo.org.  It's also worth knowing we run a coffee shop in the church building all week, so you can always drop by for a drink and ask the team about church life.

You are very welcome to come and join us on a Sunday morning (at 11am) or evening (at 6.30pm) - both services are friendly and informal, and there's always plenty of time to meet us over a cup of tea or coffee afterwards.

In a city that can so easily breed loneliness and isolation we run a number of Small Groups to help grow deeper, more meaningful relationships and to provide a sense of support. They meet in the evening on various days every week. Through membership of a small group you will find lots of encouragement as well as having the opportunity to get to know a few people really well. If you choose, we’d love you to get involved

Serving the community is an essential part of Oasis Church Waterloo life. We can offer a wide range of short and long term opportunities to get involved in the life of the church here;

The Waterloo FoodBank, based at Oasis Church Waterloo, works in partnership with frontline care professionals and North Lambeth Churches Together to identify individuals and families in need in the local area and provide them with emergency food.

We also run a number of COGs (Community Groups), including a Community Choir, Running Group, Netball Group, and a Cooking with Friends group. We can also support you if you want to start a new COG.

We work in partnership with Guys & St. Thomas’ Hospital and currently have a small team working within A&E.

During the winter months we run a night shelter in the church for the homeless as part of the Robes project.

From September 2011, Johanna Primary School has been part of Oasis. This brings with it new and exciting chances to engage with our community. Reading with a child during lunchtime, supporting families, mentoring, providing after school and holiday clubs – all opportunities, projects and relationship the church can be part of.

And of course you can always be part of our Sunday Services teams; everything from making teas and coffees, welcoming people, playing in the band, helping count the offering, using sound and visuals equipment, helping mini, kids and youth church groups. We’d love you to be part of our services.

Volunteers are the life-blood of the Oasis Church Waterloo community - without them, we simply couldn't do what we do. Volunteering at Oasis Church Waterloo is a chance to gain valuable work experience, learn new skills, meet new people and contribute to the life of the community. There are a wide variety of opportunities here at Oasis Church Waterloo, whether it's an hour on Sunday, an entire day during the week, helping with our Childrens, Youth and Familes work, an evening project with your small group or a project that you can do at home -- there's always a way for you to get plugged in!

If you'd like to know more about how to get involved, please contact churchoffice@oasiswaterloo.org to say hello or request more information.
