What is the Buntathon?

The Buntathon is a bunting project that will take place over a number of weeks. It requires a multitude of
people and community groups to join in and contribute their own bunting triangle. We are confident that lots
of people will contribute which is why we are attempting to break the Guinness world record for the longest
line of bunting in the world ever!

When will the Buntathon take place?

The Buntathon will be launched on Monday 4th June at the Jubilee Jamboree (a free Diamond Jubilee
celebration for families to be held on Millennium Green - please email dan.dowman@oasiswaterloo.org for
details) and will continue until the London 2012 opening ceremony on 27th July.

How will the record be judged?

Once complete the bunting must be strung up so the record can be officially ratified. We plan to do this at
Oasis Academy Johanna (the primary school near Millennium Green) at a community screening of the
London 2012 opening ceremony - to which all Buntathletes will be welcome to join the festivities and admire
the finished bunting.

Our hope is that the Buntathon will reflect the magnificent diversity in Waterloo and our commitment to
working in partnership with community providers.
